Tomorrow is Halloween! Say “Boo!” to the Flu

Happy Halloween!

As I said in a previous post, this year our celebrating started almost a week early. I decided last minute to go to Boo at the Zoo on Sunday with the girls. The weather couldn’t have been any more beautiful!

I’m not sure what Marsy enjoyed more – the trick-or-treating or just gazing at everyone else’s costumes. “There’s Cinderella! And ANOTHER Cinderella! And looook! A PARROT, Mommy, a big PARROT!” That went on all evening.

It really wasn’t in our budget this year to buy a new costume, nothing in the right size came up in our neighborhood exchange, so I decided that I’d let Marsy come up with her own outfit from her dress-up box. She had her heart set on being a ‘fairy princess ballerina’ but at the last minute her wings were nowhere to be found, so she made do with just being a ‘princess ballerina’.

Baby wore a costume that Grandma originally gave to her big sis a few years back. Seeing the puzzled look on people’s faces when they saw her was funny. “Is she a bee? Is she Winnie the Pooh?” Actually, she was disguised as Winnie the Pooh in a bee costume. Cute, huh? Her daddy whispered to me that he thought she looked like a “pregnant Pooh”. I couldn’t get that visual out of my head all evening!

The three photos above have been entered into a costume contest, sponsored by Blurb.com and the Parent Bloggers Network. Blurb is a book publishing platform that enables you to produce your own bookstore-quality book by just using a computer & your creativity!

To make a long story short, we had a blast and came home with a ton of goodies:
Lots of goodies!
I was happy to see that only about a third of it was actually candy!

The rest? Granola bars, cheese puffs, popcorn, juice boxes, stickers, and lots of other fun stuff.
Check out my flickr album to see more from our fun night at the National Zoo.
